Mom's baby quilt
My Mom had the honor of being the first baby in the family. As a mom myself, I know that first children get some special treatment that the others don't get. Simply because Mom has some free time. Handmade lovely items abound when you are the first child. My grandmother embroidered these cute squares for Mom before mom was born. This is a penguin wearing a top hat. They were to make a baby quilt.
Gran ran out of time so the quilt was never finished until Mom put the squares together and quilted it.

ReplyDeletelove the quilt. I bet I know someone that could digitize the designs for the next generation of babies. Great use of the letters for the Mono. The book of Ruth kept saying it couldn't be done :)
